It's generally not recommended to dry lights and darks together due to the risk of dye transfer.
Dye Transfer: Dark-colored clothing, especially new items, can release dye during the drying process. This dye can then be absorbed by lighter-colored garments, causing staining or discoloration. This is more likely to happen with cotton or other natural fibers.
Heat: High heat in the dryer can exacerbate dye transfer.
Fading: Repeatedly drying dark clothes with light clothes can lead to gradual fading of the dark clothes.
Exceptions: If you are confident that your dark clothes have been washed several times and no longer release dye, and you're using a low heat setting, the risk is reduced. However, it's generally better to err on the side of caution and separate your laundry.
